Android: check the video, not the port
How to separate wired display support from a charging-only connection.
To drive these glasses directly, the phone needs video output over USB-C, commonly called DisplayPort Alt Mode. Charging or USB data support alone does not establish that capability.
Start with the exact model
This finder covers the Galaxy S23, S24 and S25 base, Plus and Ultra models with both glasses. Samsung lists these families for wired DeX display use. FE, Edge and other variants do not inherit a match automatically.
- Find the phone’s complete model name in its settings.
- Check the manufacturer’s specifications or support page for wired display output, DisplayPort Alt Mode, or the exact model’s wired DeX support.
- Check the glasses maker’s own compatibility guidance. Both sides of the connection matter.
DeX isn’t ordinary mirroring
A supported Galaxy phone can offer a desktop-like DeX interface or mirror its phone screen. An app’s layout and playback restrictions may differ. Samsung’s wireless DeX and DeX-for-PC support lists describe different connection modes; do not use them as a substitute for wired-display evidence.
For charging, the adapter must preserve the display connection while accepting power. A generic USB-C splitter is not a verified substitute.
